Sara Hamm
My name is Sara Hamm and I am a Holistic Health Coach.  I specialize in the area of elimination diets.  Passionate about healthy eating, I help others learn to make consistently wise choices regarding their nutrition and overall well-being. After many years of wellness, fitness and holistic education I received my formal health coach training from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, where I was introduced to more than one hundred dietary theories and studied a variety of practical lifestyle coaching methods. In addition to my health coaching certificate I received my bachelors degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
I decided to help people implement elimination diets after living through my own journey of discovering the foods my body loves as well as the foods that cause problems.  In 2005 I began to experience bloating every morning and it typically lasted until late into the afternoon.  I felt like I was several months pregnant and I couldn’t figure out what why.  In general I was quite healthy – I ate well and exercised most days.  I went to several doctors to try to find the cause of the bloating and they ran tests but no one could tell me why the bloating was occurring.  I then went to a naturopath who asked me if I ate soy.  I replied that I didn’t think so – no real obvious sources of it at least.  She encouraged me to read the labels of any processed foods I was eating to see if soy was an ingredient.  I did so and realized that the “super healthy” granola I was eating most mornings had isolated soy protein as one of it’s very first ingredients.  I stopped eating the granola and, miraculously, the bloating disappeared.  Before this I had no idea food, especially “healthy” food could cause symptoms such as mine.  It was quite a revelation!  Over the past 10 years I have tested my compatibility to other foods through many different elimination diets and have, through this process, come up with the perfect diet for MY body.
